It been a while since I last posted

Time sure has flown and it's been a while since I posted. I have been busy on a couple of projects. Got one done and need to get some pics uploaded. I think it turned out nice. I won't wear it since I don't want it damaged. I plan at this time on entering it in the Fair in August.

Most of my work has been on a Christening Set to enter into the Fair. It is all done in thread. I finally have the gown done. All I need to do is weave in the ends and work on the embellishments. It took a long time but I think it will be worth it in the end. Now I am whipping up the Bonnet. Stated it htis morning and will have it finished very shortly.

There's also booties, crochet edged socks, a bottle cover and a matching afghan. The afghan will be interesting since it is also done in thread.

I will try to get pics posted of what I have done so far in the next day or so.

Last Sat. we went to the Sportsman's Show in Portland, OR andi t was a lot of fun. The grandkids were with us as well as thier momma. Our son and his girlfriend showed up a little later. They missed the fun at the kids fishing pond. Mollie and Michael each got 2 fish. Michael had fun as long as the fish was IN the water but as soon as the fish was out of water and flopping around he went running and screaming. It was down right funny.

We found several boats we liked but of course right now is not the time for us to buy. Need to get the car paid off first. Less than 2 yrs and it's paid off, Yippee!!!

Last few days has been horrible. Woke up sick on Monday with a horrible sore throat. Was down sick both Monday and Tuesday but today feeling much better.

Jellie Beanz Bears

I was one of the lucky ones to test this cute little bear for a online friend. This is really a simple and awesome pattern and the greatest part was I only had to sew the head to the body. The legs and arms are attached as you work.

Thanks Christal for letting me test this for you. Anyone interested in Christal (chrisdfriend)pattern for the Jellie Beanz Bears can go to her Etsy Shop to purchase.

A little laughter from our trip to Spokane

Wednesday, January 9th I went trucking with hubby on an overnight run to Spokane, WA. You know, the place that is snowed in and isn't getting much of a break. I think they will be BBQing in July with snowpiles still around.

Anyway, the trip was pretty uneventful until we arrived at the first delivery location. We watched dumptruck load after dumptruck load of snow being hauled from behind the business we were delivering to. It was amazing how many dumptruck loads there were, we lost count.

Finally the first half of the load was delivered, it was time to leave, well maybe, we have to get through all the people first. You've heard of "Bring your son/daughter to work day", well this was bring your "Snowshovel to Work Day", I only got a few pics but there had to be well over 100 people that had been on the roof of the building shoveling snow off.

This is one of the snowpiles at the first delivery location. Not the pile from the shoveling of snow off the roof.

Here's the last of the snow shoveling brigade heading towards their vehicles

Delivery location number 2, the saga of the stuck truck

Ok so the cardboard idea didn't work let's try this, we'll chisel this truck out

Let's see how that turned out

Nope. still stuck, chiseling out didn't work so what's next, let's try this, if this doesn't work then it's staying there until Spring thaw

Let's see if, the combination of cardboard sheets, chiseling and ice melt worked or if the truck was staying in place til Spring thaw, what do you think?

Well, you can see the results for yourself. Afterwards, the driver came over and chatted. He had been having no trouble getting around and making his route until he had to stop at the fuel island before getting off work.

We all had a good laugh, we can laugh right along with him since hubby of course has been in those situations also.

On The Mend

Back on Sat Dec 27th I ended up with severe back problems. We were out shopping when it hit me. I couldn't go any further. Hubby had to bring me home. I got home and ended up in a bad position. I was down on the floor and could not get back up. Could not roll over to get up, nothing.

Hubby had to call 911 and I ended up going to the hospital via ambulance. Everyone from the Ambulance Crew, the FireFighter Paramedics to the Hospital Staff was great.

It has been over a week now and I am feeling much much better and can move around much better. I had been doped up pretty good.

My daughter spent several days coming over and helping out, Thanks Melissa, you were great on all the help.

I am off the meds now for 3 days other than today I did take a couple of Ibuprofen.

Sure was a scarey time though, not being able to get up off the floor. Sure is hell getting older. Guess my snow shoveling days are coming to an end quickly. I think that is what did it even though I made sure to take it easy and not over do it.

I have had many well wishes from family and my crochet friends. Thanks everyone for your well wishes and prayer's.

Some of my recent crochet work

This is what I have been working on. I love these little babies. One is for Christmas. My granddaughter is getting a new Cradle Purse and baby. She loves to look at my babies as I am making clothes for them. She ask's to hold one and does so ever so carefully. I was able to work on this one for her while she was around. She thinks it is for someone else. I told her that after Christmas I will have to see about making one for her and she wants one just like the one I worked on. Boy will be ever be surprised on Christmas when she find out it is hers.

All I wanted was snow for my Birthday and that is what I am getting. We have been in the middle of the Artic Blast in the Pac NW but we haven't really gotten snow, atleast not for long. We get a little bit and then it goes away. Today I am getting big fluffy snow flakes.
